CHINA MERCHANTS PORT (SOUTH CHINA) MANAGEMENT CENTER

China Merchants Port (South China) Management Center consists of Shekou Container Terminals (SCT), Chiwan Container Terminal (CCT) and Mawan SmartPort (MCT). As a one of the important members of China Merchants Port Group, the management center has been implemented integrated operation management mode since May 2011. lt is responsible for the management of China Merchants Western Shenzhen ports as a operation platform. China Merchants Western Shenzhen ports is located in the east of Lingdingyang and its hinterland is closer to the so called "World factory" - pearl river delta. lt serves as an important "maritime gateway" for consignors and shipping companies to enter and exit South China. ln December 2014, the area where China Merchants Western Shenzhen ports is located was included in the China(Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone by the central administration, and since then, it has also been upgraded to the Qianhai - Shekou Free Trade Zone's gateway to the world.

Shekou Container Terminals (SCT)

The First National Low-carbon Demonstration Port Area

Shekou Container Terminal (SCT), operated by China Merchants Port (South China) Management Center, covers a total area of 1.591 million square meters with 9 berths spreading along a 3,883-meter berth lines. SCT attaches great importance to environmental protection. It was officially included in the first list of National Low-carbon Demonstration Port Areas by the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China after its completion of replacement of all diesel gantry cranes with electric ones in the yard and the Alternative Maritime Power (AMP) project.

Mawan SmartPort (MCT)

The First 5G Green Low-carbon Smart Port in GBA

Mawan SmartPort (MCT), operated by China Merchants Port (South China) Management Center, is the only port spanning across five areas and zones in China including the GBA, the Pilot Demonstration Area, Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, the Qianhai & Shekou Area of (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone and the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone. Covering a total area of 984,000 square meters, MCT offers 5 berths spreading along a 1,930-meter coastline.
On July 15, 1990, "Mawan SmartPort", the name of the terminal, was inscribed by Mr. Xi Zhongxun personally.
MCT Berths 5, 6 and 6 and the rear yard of the terminal combine to form the first large-size remotely controlled port area in China. MCT Berths 3 and 4 are the first 5G-based smart port in the GBA with intended capacity to handle 3 million TEUs a year and capacity to accommodate the world's largest container liners. In the future, MCT will be a global smart command center of CMPort and a significant platform of CMG to implement the national strategy to strengthen the country with shipping.

Chiwan Container Terminals (CCT)

Favorable Location

Chiwan Container Terminal (CCT), operated by China Merchants Port (South China) Management Center, is situated on Nantou Peninsula in Western Shenzhen, and covers a total area of 857,000 square meters with 6 berths spreading along a 2,377-meter coastline. CCT enjoys a favorable location with a distance of 20 nautical miles only to Hong Kong. CCT has completed replacement of all diesel gantry cranes with electric ones in the yard and the AMP project.
